Staying Fit During the Holidays

Now that our Thanksgiving feasts are over, it’s time for Holiday cookies and baking treats. What are things we can do to stay fit and reduce stress of the holiday season?

Here are a list of sites that I like for exercise, diet and health tips: has a free food journal called the daily plate. Check out videos, articles and more on fitness, diet and nutrition, and much more! There is even an Livestrong app for iphone and blackberry. is an great source for finding an activity that you like to do in your area, a support community feature, and more.
From Couch to 5k is a great place to designed to get new runners off the couch and running a 5k! There are tips on running gear that you will need to a training plan and more. (There are some ads on this site.)
CARA– Chicago Area Runners Association is my preferred site to find races and information on training.
Sparkpeople is a free diet plan and community. I especially like that there are free phone apps which makes it easy to keep track of your food and exercise.

All of these sites have a facebook page. During our Thanksgiving celebration, we played Wii Sports and Just Dance! Just Dance is a fun way to break a sweat! Check out this list of games that are sure to be a workout especially in the upcoming cold weather months!
